Stormers beat Cheetahs in Cape Town

Out of the last five matches between the Cape Town based Stormers and the Bloemfontein based Cheetahs the Stormers have won three and the Cheetahs two.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The match is underway.

3.00: The Stormers make a strong start to the match by working the ball into the Cheetahs 22.

4.00:The Stormers win a line out and try to get the maul rolling but they win a penalty. They kick for touch and the line out again.

5.00: The Stormers win the line out and they drive Deon Fourie over the line for the first TRY!

5.00:Kurt Coleman misses the conversion.

11.00: The Stormers win a line out and Schalk Burger gets into the line and passes to no one. The Stormers get back and knock the ball on.

16.00: The Cheetahs enjoy some game time in the Stormers half but the Stormers defence holds strong.

17.00: The Stormers win a scrum in the Stormers half and they try to run the ball but the Stormers are offside so the Cheetahs have a penalty. They kick for the corner.

20.00: The Stormers work the ball into the Cheetahs half but then Stuart Berry awards the Cheetahs a penalty so they kick for touch.

21.00: Adriaan Strauss is shown a yellow card for a late tackle. The Stormers kick for touch.

28.00: The Stormers are awarded a penalty almost in front.

29.00: Coleman takes the kick and nails it.

33.00: The Stormers get into space again, they get stopped on the left and they recycle quickly and change sides. They send the ball down the line and Kobus van Wyk goes over to score. TRY!

34.00: Coleman slots the conversion.

There appears to have been some off the ball stuff between the two sixes so the TMO is called upon. They get a warning and the Cheetahs get a penalty. They kick for touch.

40.00: The Stormers have the advantage so knowing this Jaco Taute kicks a drop goal and misses. We go back for the penalty.

42.0: Coleman takes the penalty kick but misses.

The Cheetahs kick off and we are underway. 

42.00: The scrums are battling to complete.

43.00: After a few resets the scrum completes and the Cheetahs win the ball and run at the Stormers.

44.00: The Cheetahs get into the Stormers 22 and they win a penalty. They take the quick tap but still cant get through.

45.00: Another penalty to the Cheetahs. This one they tap and run.

46.00: Adriaan Strauss concedes a penalty so the Stormers get to kick the ball away and relieve the pressure.

48.00: Penalty to the Stormers. They kick for touch.

49.00: Penalty to the Stormers. Coleman takes the kick and nails it.

52.00: Stuart Berry gives the Cheetahs a team warning for cynical play. The Stormers get a penalty. They kick for touch.

58.00: The Stormers win a penalty. Coleman kicks for touch but its a bit of a shocker so they hardly make any ground.

60.00: The Stormers win the ball from a ruck but Peter Grant fumbles the ball having just replaced Coleman.

61.00: The Stormers recover the ball and Damian de Allende races through but it just caught. The Stormers get a penalty in front.

62.00: Peter Grant slots the penalty to extend the lead.

67.00: Nizaam Carr makes a break for the Stormers and almost gets away to score after a chip from Peter Grant and a pass from Juan de Jongh. Carr passes to Kolisi but the Cheetahs get back to stop the try.

69.00: The Stormers break out again and Kolisi gets through a gap and goes over to score. The TMO checks that the try is ok. The try is awarded

69.00:Grant slots the conversion.

73.00: TMO is called in for foul play. Replays show Michael Rhodes pulling a Cheetahs players hair and he is yellow carded.

75.00: The Stormers are playing the game
