Blues & All Blacks lose Piutau for two months

Blues and All Blacks fullback Charles Piutau will miss the next two months of Super Rugby after he sustained a knee injury playing against the Chiefs.

Blues doctor Stephen Kara has confirmed fullback Charles Piutau has suffered a grade two medial ligament strain to his right knee.

Piutau currently in a brace and on crutches and the Blues say that they expect him to be out of action for between six to eight weeks.

The injury means that Piutau will miss the All Black’s June Test series against England as a six week return would make him available for the final test but he would not be match fit.

Piutau made his All Black debut in 2013 and has scored three tries in his 10 tests.

The Blues said in a statement that there no other injuries from their 32-20 loss to the Chiefs.

The Blues return to Super Rugby after the June break with a match against the Western Force in Perth on June the 28th.
