Crusaders make five changes for Reds clash

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder has made five changes to the starting team that beat the Brumbies for Sunday’s Super Rugby match against the Reds in Brisbane.

Blackadder has named Corey Flynn to start at starting hooker this week and Ben Funnell will take a spot on the reserve bench.

Lock Luke Romano has come off the bench to start at number 4 alongside Sam Whitelock.

Richie McCaw returns to openside flanker, with Matt Todd forced out of contention with a calf strain suffered against the Brumbies.

That sees Jordan Taufua move into the blindside flanker spot and George Whitelock come into the reserves.

Luke Whitelock retains the number 8 jersey while Kieran Read takes another week to recover from a head knock.

Rey Lee-Lo re-enters the midfield this week, taking the centre spot vacated by Kieron Fonotia after reaggravating a hamstring injury against the Brumbies.

Second five Ryan Crotty will again captain the side with McCaw as vice-captain.
