Reds v Crusaders Super Rugby Preview

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Queensland Reds and the
Crusaders the Queenslanders have won three and the Crusaders two.

The Reds famously beat the Crusaders in the 2011 Super Rugby final in Brisbane
and the victory made them Super Rugby. Since then the teams have played twice
and Crusaders have won both matches.

Overall the Reds have played the Crusaders 20 times in Super Rugby since 1996
and the Reds have won six matches and the Crusaders have won 14 matches.

That gives the Reds a history of winning 30% of their matches against the Crusaders
across all venues.

The average score across all venues when the Reds play the Crusaders is : Reds
22 Crusaders 29.

This week the match will be played in Brisbane where the teams have met 11
times. In those 11 matches the Reds have won 5 times and lost six times.

Interestingly the last three matches in Brisbane have all been won by the Reds
although it should be noted that the 2011 Super Rugby final was the last time
the teams met in Brisbane.

Those five Reds victories give them a record of winning 46% of their home matches
against the Crusaders.

The average score when the Reds play the Crusaders in Brisbane is : Reds 26
Crusaders 23.

In terms of form the Reds and the Crusaders could almost not be more opposite.
The Reds are on a four match losing streak while the Crusaders are on a four
match winning streak.

The Crusaders four match unbeaten run makes them the current form team in Super
Rugby as no other team has a run that extends beyond two matches. The Force
went five matches unbeaten but a loss ended that run.

The Reds were beaten by the Blues last week and have made six changes including
Curtis Browning who will make his starting debut. Some of the changes have been
brought on by injury so the Reds are unable to field a team at full strength.

The Crusaders on the other hand have made five changes to the side that beat
the Brumbies. Kieran Read is still unavailable but Richie McCaw starts in place
of Matt Todd who was forced out of contention with a calf strain. Colin Slade
appears to be going from strength to strength as the season progresses.

The Bookies
have given the Reds an 8 point start for this Match
– with an
offer of a FREE $250.00 Bet.
This year it just isn’t working
out for the Reds. The Crusaders started slowly but have really turned it around.
The Crusaders should win this comfortably by 8 or more.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in
the UK on Sky Sports 3/HD.
