Stormers beat Lions in Cape Town

Marnitz Boshoff kicks off and we are underway.

6.00: The Lions have the ball in the Stormers half but the Stormers suck up their attack.

11.00: The Lions try to attack the Stormers after a line out but they knock on just inside the Stormers half.

12.00: Peter Grant kicks across field to Sailosi Tagicakibau and it finds him perfectly but the Lions read it perfectly and bungle him into touch.

14.00 The Stormers attack in the corner and they pass out to the wing but the Lions get a hand to the ball and it goes out saving a try. The Stormers get a penalty.

14.00: Peter Grant takes the kick and nails it.

19.00: Stuart Berry awards a penalty to the Lions after initially awarding it to the Stormers. He says the call came from Marius van der Westhuizen who was 65m away.

20.00: The Lions set up a maul and drive into the Stormers 22. They get a penalty advantage and then the penalty. There is also a foul play report.

21.00: Referee Stuart Berry has shown Deon Fourie a yellow card for an off the ball shove on a Lions player. Boshoff will kick for posts. He misses.

25.00: The Stormers have a penalty but Peter Grant misses.

26.00: Referee Stuart Berry has spotted something Michael Rhodes did so he goes to the TMO to review it. We go back for a penalty and the Lions kick for touch.

28.00: The Stormers get the ball into the Lions 25 and they stretch the Lions after a quick tap penalty and Damian de Allende goes over to score. TRY!

29.00: Peter Grant takes the conversion kick but he pulls it across the face of the posts.

34.00: The Stormers appear to be lifting. De Allende makes a break in the Lions 22 and he passes to Nizaam Carr who goes over to score. TRY!

35.00: Peter Grant slots the conversion.

37.00: The Lions win a penalty so they kick for touch. The Lions then win another penalty as Nizaam Carr did not retreat 10m from the line out. Boshoff kicks for touch again.

38.00: The Lions win yet another penalty as the maul collapses. The Lions win the line out again and they run the ball.

39.00: The Lions get the ball to the line as the siren sounds. They can’t get over the line. The Lions have the advantage.

40.00: Deon Fourie gets a warning from Stuart Berry. The Lions choose the scrum

41.00: The Lions continue to attack the Stormers tryline but then the Stormers win a penalty. They kick the ball out. It’s half time.

The Stormers kick off and we are underway. Demetri Catrakilis has a suspected broken nose and will not be back.

43.00: The Lions get an early penalty so Marnitz Boshoff takes the kick and nails it.

48.00:The Lions are starting to take control of the ball more. They win a line out in the Stormers half and start to attack just outside the Stormers 22.

51.00: The Stormers suck up the Lions attack and they work the ball back into the Lions half.

54.00: The Stormers win two penalties and take both quickly with quick taps. They work the ball up to the Lions 5m line.

55.00: The Lions defend the Stormers attack on their tryline and they win a penalty. They kick for touch.

60.00: The Lions enjoy a brief time on attack in the Stormers half but then the home side turn the ball over and they work the ball back into the Lions half.
