Nucifora appointed as Ireland performance director

Former Australia High Performance Director David Nucifora has been appointed as reland’s new performance director which will see him taking responsibility for the country’s national game at both domestic and international level.

Nucifora coached the Brumbies to a Super Rugby title and then had a stint in Auckland coaching the Blues before taking on the performance role with the Australian Rugby Union.

The former Wallabies hooker’s role with Ireland is very similar to the one he had with the Australian Rugby Union and the 52-year-old has joined the Ireland Rugby Union on a five year deal.

Ireland won the Six Nations earlier this year beating England on points difference. The tournament was their first under new coach Joe Schmidt.
