Folau to join Waratahs in SA for Stormers clash

The Waratahs have announced that their star fullback Israel Folau will fly out to South Africa and join the squad for the Stormers match next week.

Folau injured his throat in the Waratahs 32-8 victory over the Melbourne Rebels and stayed in Sydney for treatment while the Tahs prepared to face the Sharks in Durban.

A statement from the Waratahs said that fullback Folau will depart for South Africa on Sunday to link up with his NSW teammates as he has been cleared of the throat injury.

The Waratahs named Jonno Lance in Folau’s place for their match against the Sharks this week but Folau is expected to return to the starting line up for next Saturday’s (Sunday in Australia) clash with the Stormers in Cape Town.

Folau has scored eight tries in four games this season.
