Springbok winger Bryan Habana looks set to make his return from a long-term injury off the Toulon replacements bench when they face Toulouse in the Top 14 on Saturday
Habana, one of Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal’s showcase signings, has been sidelined since early December after sustaining a thigh muscle injury in European Cup action.
The 30-year-old, a 2007 Rugby World Cup winner with the Springboks in Paris, joined Toulon this season from Cape Town-based Western Stormers.
The 95-time capped ‘Bok is one of the deadliest finishers in world rugby, and Boudjellal would love to get one of his star players back on the paddock at a crucial time, with the race on to guarantee a place in the top six for the play-offs at the end of the regular season.
Second-placed Toulon, however, will be without ex-All Black lock Ali Williams, who has a biceps injury.
