Aviva Premiership Rugby Club Newcastle Falcons have announced that Scott MacLeod has extended his contract with the club ahead of their clash with Worcester Warriors at Kingston Park.
The experienced lock, 35, who made the switch to Kingston Park from Japanese outfit Kobe Steelers ahead of the 2012-13 season, played a key role in helping the Falcons to an immediate return to the Aviva Premiership last term.
Making 16 appearances in all competitions this campaign, the 24-times capped Scotland international is delighted to have pinned his colours to Newcastle.
“Newcastle Falcons is a club that has big plans for the future and I want to be a part of what it is striving to achieve under Dean Richards,” said MacLeod.
“Since joining Newcastle in the summer of 2012 I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at the club, and I can’t wait to get stuck into Sunday’s game against Worcester,” he added.
Newcastle director of rugby Richards said: “Scott brings a wealth of experience to the table and I’m really pleased that he’s committed himself to the club for another year.”
“He’s a great character to have around the dressing room and his expertise at the lineout is invaluable in the Premiership.”
