Ali Williams in doubt for Toulon in Top 14 Rugby

Toulon’s former All Black Rugby World Cup winning lock Ali Williams has been sidelined with an arm injury which could rule him out of Saturday’s Top 14 clash against Toulouse.

Williams injured his right biceps in Friday’s 22-16 defeat to Top 14 leaders Clermont and will undergo tests during the week to establish the length of his layoff.

Toulon, second in the table three points behind Clermont, remain hopeful he can play in the Heineken Cup quarter-final tie at home against Leinster on April 6.

The southern side are already without injured South African lock Bakkies Botha (fractured arm) who is expected to return against the Irish province.

Manager Bernard Laporte can however count on South African winger Bryan Habana, who is set to return on Saturday after three months out with a thigh injury.
