Brumbies beat Stormers in Canberra

The Stormers are on a two match losing streak but this week they up against the Brumbies who they have not lost to in Super Rugby since 2010.

We are waiting for the kick off. The Stormers have lost Schalk Burger for this match. Siya Kolisi will start at No.7, with Jurie van Vuuren coming onto the bench.

0.01: The Stormers kick off and we are underway.

1.00: The Stormers apply some early pressure and set up an attacking line out in the Brumbies 22.

2.00: The Stormers win the line out, get pushed back a little but then they win a penalty as Stephen Moore comes in from the side.

3.00: Peter Grant takes the penalty kick for posts and misses.

5.00: The Stormers win a scrum in the Brumbies half. Jean De Villiers slips straight through. He is caught and then the Stormers win a penalty for side entry.

6.00: Peter Grant takes the penalty shot at goal. He nails this one. Stormers lead.

8.00: The Brumbies have the ball at a maul, they pass the ball to Matt Toomua who slices through the Stormers and passes to Robbie Coleman who scores the first TRY in the corner. Great TRY. Especially against the Stormers defence.

9.00: Nic White takes the conversion from the touchline and slots it.

13.00: The Stormers put the Brumbies scrum under some pressure in their 22 but the Brumbies win the scrum and kick upfield. The Brumbies then win the line out and attack.

17.00: Penalty to the Stormers, just out of Grant’s range so Aplon kicks for touch. The Stormers have a line out inside the Brumbies 22.

19.00: The Stormers are playing the game in the Brumbies half. They go through 7 phases on attack in the 22. They get to the line on the 8th phase but can’t get over.

20.00: Penalty to the Stormers. They kick for the corner and the line out.

22.00: The Stormers win the line out and use the maul to get Duane Vermeulen over for the TRY!

23.00: Peter Grant takes the conversion and slots it.

24.00:The Brumbies get the ball on attack and go through the phases gradually working the ball forward but then they lose it forward just inside the Stormers half.

27.00: The Stormers are playing more with the ball in hand whereas the Brumbies are kicking the ball away too much. Siya Kolisi has a run but loses the all forward.

28.00: The Stormers manage to slip through the Brumbies defence. Aplon races through but then somehow the Brumbies get a hand to it and then they win a penalty. Brumbies have missed 13 tackles so far. Stormers 2.

30.00: Tiaan Liebenberg lifts Ben Mowen above the horizontal in a tackle. It’s not bad but to the letter of the law its a yellow so he is off to the bin.

32.00: The Brumbies work the ball into the Stormers 22 and then they win a penalty. White slots the penalty.  The Scores are level.

33.00: The Brumbies pass the ball back to Mogg, he runs a little then kicks to Aplon who makes the mark in the Stormers 22. 22 Drop out and it sets up a Brumbies line out just inside the Stormers half.

34.00: The Brumbies win the line out but knock on.

35.00: Huge scrum from the Brumbies which wins them a penalty. White kicks for touch.

37.00: The Brumbies go through 14 phases on attack but then the ball slows and the Brumbies win a penalty.

38.00: White takes the penalty kick and slots it.

40.00: The siren sounds. It is half time.

The half time score was Brumbies 13 Stormers 10

The Stormers kick off and we are underway.

41.00: Early penalty to the Stormers. Grant kicks for touch but doesn’t find it so Mogg boots it back behind Grant. Liebenberg comes back on.

43.00: The Brumbies have the ball and attack the Stormers in their half but then they fail to release and concede a penalty.

44.00: The Stormers kick for touch and agai
