Brumbies beat Waratahs in Canberra

The Waratahs are one of three Super Rugby teams this season who are still unbeaten so they will hoping to leave Canberra with that status still intact.

We are waiting for the kick off.

0.01: The Waratahs kick off and we are underway.

1.00: The first penalty of the match goes to the Brumbies for leaving the feet. Nic White fails to find touch so the Waratahs get the ball back and attack.

2.00: Penalty to the Waratahs for offside at the ruck. They will kick for posts.

3.00: Foley takes the penalty shot and nails it. The Waratahs have the early lead.

5.00: The Brumbies win a penalty back so Nic White signals that he will kick for posts. He takes the shot and nails it. The scores are level.

7.00: The Waratahs attack down the wing but they get pushed out. However they are awarded a penalty so they kick for touch and the line out.

8.00; The Waratahs win the line out and run at the Brumbies about 10m out. The Tahs go through five phases and then they concede a penalty.

9.00: The Brumbies kick for touch. They win the line out and moves the ball across the field and pass it back for Jesse Mogg who kicks the ball out deep.   

10.00: Israel Folau has a short run but is stopped. The touchie comes in to report some foul play so the Waratahs have a penalty for obstruction.

11.00: Bernard Foley takes the penalty kick from almost the touchline. He nails it. The Waratahs lead.

12.00: The Brumbies get the ball to Jesse Mogg and he boots it way down field. The Waratahs lose their throw as the ball goes back to the Brumbies but a knock on is called so the home side get a scrum.

14.00: The Brumbies win the scrum and run for the line, after two passes Nic White scores. TRY!

16.00: White takes the conversion from in front and slots it.

17.00: The Brumbies are on the attack and then Jesse Mogg chips up and chases. He shows real pace to get to the ball and grabs it as he goes over the line and scores. Or does he ? We go to the TMO. It’s a TRY! he beat Folau to the ball on that one.

18.00: White adds the conversion.  

20.00: The Brumbies win a line out in the Waratahs half. They are really in control here. They send the ball down the line but then the Waratahs turn the ball over and kick it but it fails to find touch.

21.00: Penalty to the Waratahs. Foley kicks for touch. Brumbies possession is at 61%.

22.00: The Waratahs have the ball and they try to attack but a Brumbies hand comes into the ruck so the Tahs get a penalty.

24.00: Foley takes the penalty kick and it hits the post. The Brumbies knock on after the post came back down so Waratahs have a scrum 10m or so out.

25.00: The scrum collapses on it’s first set. And again and the Waratahs have a penalty. They will kick for posts.

27.00: Foley takes the penalty shot and nails it.

28.00: The Brumbies work the ball down to the Waratahs 22 but then they concede a penalty so the Waratahs clear to the half way line.

31.00: The Brumbies try to kick the ball through the Waratahs defence and the Waratahs have to chase the ball to get back. The Brumbies are targeting Kurtley Beale with some big hits.

32.00:The Waratahs get a breakthrough and Peter Betham almost gets through but they lose the ball and Mogg gets the ball and runs and then he loses it too.

33.00: The Brumbies possession is down to 44% which indicates how the Waratahs are coming back. The Brumbies win a scrum and run the ball, Mogg passes to Coleman on the wing and they get the ball into the Waratahs 22. The Tahs however turn the ball over and try to run it out of their 22. They fail to make ground so we go back for a knock on.

36.00: The Waratahs shove early and concede the put in to the Brumbies. The scrum is in the Waratahs 22.
