Ulugia agrees to play Top 14 Rugby for Clermont

Former Wallabies and Waratahs hooker John Ulugia has agreed to play Top 14 Rugby next season for Clermont.

Ulugia, 27, who is currently with French Second Division club Bourg-en-Bresse, will sign a two-year contract.

Capped three times by the Wallabies, Ulugia moved to France in September from Waratahs, having previously played for their Super 15 rivals Brumbies.

At Clermont, Ulugia will be in competition for a starting place with French international Benjamin Kayser, Samoan Ti’i Paulo and Benoit Cabello.

Ulugia is Clermont’s fourth signing for next season, following the capture of Sebastien Vahaamahina, Jonathan Davies and Fritz Lee.
