French Top 14 Rugby Club Racing Metro have signed Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips just two months after he was sacked by Bayonne.
Phillips was sacked in October by Bayonne after he allegedly turned up for a video analysis session under the influence of alcohol with some team mates.
While Phillips was linked to Racing Metro last week they denied the signing until today when they confirmed it.
Racing Metro have however not yet confirmed the length of Phillips contract with the Parisian club.
The British and Irish Lions scrum half will join his Wales team mates Jamie Roberts and Dan Lydiate in Paris.
Phillips who was born in Carmarthenshire played for Wales in three of their four Autumn International Tests.
The scrumhalf joined Bayonne from the Ospreys in 2011 until June 2014 and after his sacking said he was “disappointed and frustrated” by the club’s decision before saying that he planned to take legal action against Bayonne.
