Newport beat London Wasps in LV Cup

Newport Dragons secured a 20-8 victory over English rivals London Wasps at Rodney Parads on Saturday.

Ashton Hewitt’s 71st-minute try sealed a 20-8 win for Newport Gwent Dragons
over visiting Aviva Premiership side London Wasps.

Rhys Jones, who was a late replacement for full-back Hallam Amos, kicked two
conversions and two penalties.

Jones opened the scoring in the second minute with a three-pointer before Wasps’
Joe Carlisle responded for Dai Young’s team.

Neil Cochrane’s try in the 27th minute put Wasps ahead 8-6 for the only time
in the match, but it didn’t last long as Matthew Pewtner crossed for the Dragons
before Hewitt finished things off late on.
