Scarlets win all Welsh LV Cup derby with Newport

Scarlets started their Anglo Welsh LV Cup campaign by winning an all Welsh derby 21-13 against Newport’s Dragons.

Tries from skipper Rob McCusker and rookie wing Chris Knightin the final quarter
proved the telling blows that handed Scarlets victory on home soil.

Scarlets led 6-0 at the break before Dragons flanker Scott Matthews was yellow
carded for killing ball inside his 22 and the home side used the extra man advantage
to full effect, scoring two tries in the space of five minutes.

Dragons fly-half Kris Burton did get a try back but it was too late for the
