Clerc raring to go for Toulouse in Top14 Rugby

Toulouse and France wing Vincent Clerc is raring to go as he prepares to return to training after April cruciate knee ligament surgery, coach Jean-Baptiste Elissalde said Monday.

“He has been working hard on his rehabilitation and has started pool work,” said Elissalde of Clerc, the highest active try scorer in the French squad with 34.

Clerc had initially targeted a return in October or November after undergoing rehabilitation at a sports clinic in Saint-Raphael, southern France.

“We have to calm him down,” chortled Elissalde, noting Clerc’s determination to get back into the fray, having already managed a previous comeback from a similar injury five years ago
