2013/14 Amlin Challenge Cup pools and fixtures

Former tournament winners, London Wasps, Bath Rugby and Sale Sharks, will have qualification for the knockout stage of the 2013/14 Amlin Challenge Cup on their minds when European club rugby returns next October.

London Wasps have been drawn in Pool 4 along with Rugby Viadana of Italy, and Bayonne and Grenoble of France, while Bath Rugby will take on Newport Gwent Dragons, Bordeaux-Begles and Italian champions, Mogliano Rugby in Pool 2.

Sale Sharks, who won the tournament in 2002 and 2005, will face the 2012 champions, Biarritz Olympique, Sale Sharks, Worcester Warriors and French newcomers, Oyonnax, in Pool 1.

The pool draw for the 2013/14 Amlin Challenge Cup took place today (Wednesday, 5 June) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Last season’s tournament runners-up, Stade Francais Paris, are in Pool 5 against London Irish, I Cavalieri Prato and Spain’s Olympus Rugby XV.

The pool draws for both the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup were conducted by ERC chairman, Jean-Pierre Lux, and ERC chief executive, Derek McGrath, with two-time Heineken Cup winner, Shane Horgan, as MC.
