Blues drop George Moala for Highlanders clash

Blues coach Sir John Kirwan has dropped winger George Moala for this week’s Super Rugby match against the Highlanders according to reports.

The Blues winger was dropped after he failed to attend a training session a day (Sunday) after after the team’s 13-20 loss to the Brumbies last Saturday.

According to Sportal Moala is facing disciplinary action and has been issued with a $500 fine and has been replaced by Waisake Naholo in the Blues starting line up which will be announced later.

This is not the first time that Moala has been dropped as in April he broke team protocol when the Blues played the Reds in Brisbane but worked his way back into the team and played against the Rebels, Crusaders and Brumbies.

Moala has also had trouble with the law as he appeared at the Auckland District Court with his brother,Siua, earlier this month after an incident that took place on Auckland’s Karangahape Road in December last year.

Instead of playing Super Rugby this week Moala played for the Blues development
side which took on the New Zealand under-20s team in Auckland on Wednesday night.
