Beale returning to rugby through club rugby

Rebels and Wallabies fullback Kurtley Beale will start his return to playing Super Rugby by turning out for his Sydney rugby club Randwick.

Beale has successfully completed the first stage of his counselling after voluntarily entering a private health facility on the 13th of May.

Beale took an indefinite leave of absence from Super Rugby to enter the private clinic.

Following discussions between the ARU, RUPA and the Melbourne Rebels, and Kurtley’s departure from the health facility, all parties have agreed that it is in Kurtley’s best interest and welfare to remain in Sydney around his support network for the foreseeable future.

His decision came after he was suspended just one match after returning from a month-long ban for an alcohol-fueled altercation with two Melbourne Rebels teammates during a tour to South Africa.
