Brive promoted back into Top1 14 Rugby

Brive won promotion back into the French Top 14 Rugby tournament after they beat Pro D2 rivals Pau 30-10 on Sunday.

In front of a record crowd of 33,175 at Bordeaux’s Chaban-Delmas Stadium, Brive full-back Julien Caminati scored a try, three conversions and three penalties for a personal haul of 20 points.

Other tries came from lock Julien Ledevedec and Australian flanker Putasi Luafutu.

Pau were out-thought and out-muscled for most of the game, their sole try coming from Samoan replacement backrow forward Marlon Solofuti.

Agen and Mont-de-Marsan were both relegated from the Top 14 this season, and Brive will take their place in the top-flight for the 2013/14 season alongside outright Pro D2 champions Oyonnax.
