Smith returns for Hurricanes against Chiefs in trial

Hurricanes head coach Mark Hammett has named Conrad Smith in his team to face the Chiefs in their final Super Rugby warm up in Mangatainoka this Saturday.

Smith will make his first appearance in the black and yellow jersey for 2013 as the team run out for their final time before the Super Rugby season begins.

“We can’t wait to head back to Mangatainoka this weekend,” said coach Hammett.

“There is a real sense of rugby community up there. It is great we can be involved with grassroots rugby and take this game to the heart of Hurricanes territory,” he says.

“Playing the Chiefs will be a fantastic match. As defending champs, they will be fierce competitors and will help prepare our team for another big season ahead.”

Kick off for the match at the Mangatainoka RFC is at 3pm.
