Toulon moved clear at the top of Pool 6 in the Heineken Cup when they beat hosts Sale Sharks 6-17 at the Salford City Stadium.
Sale Sharks showed signs of improvement under new coach John Mitchell but Toulon’s class shone through and the visitors almost finished with a try but they were denied by the TMO.
