England have called up Tom Biggs (Bath Rugby), Freddie Burns (Gloucester Rugby) and Nick Wood (Gloucester Rugby) to their training squad ahead of Saturday’s fourth International against New Zealand at Twickenham Stadium
Biggs replaces Ugo Monye, who remains at Harlequins for treatment on a calf injury, Burns comes in for Toby Flood (toe) and Nick Wood is temporary cover for Alex Cobisiero (knee) as Saxons props Matt Mullan and Nathan Catt are injured along with Joe Marler.
Thirty-four players reported to the team base of Pennyhill Park and England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: “Tom is next in line from the Saxons and we are looking forward to getting a look at him.”
“Freddie has been in for two of the last three weeks so we know what he can bring and Nick Wood will provide cover as we manage Alex’s knee at the start of the week.
“Toby Flood’s toe has been re-examined and there is no bone broken but we will need to see how it settles down over the next 24 hours.”
Anthony Allen remains at Leicester Tigers following his withdrawal from today’s Aviva Premiership match at London Wasps due to illness.
