12 week ban rules Koyamaibole out of Fiji tour

Fiji and Bordeaux eighthman Sisa Koyamaibole will miss next month’s Autumn Internationals after he was given a 12 week ban for biting.

Koyamaibole admitted in a hearing in Dublin to biting London Irish flanker Declan Danaher while playing for Bordeaux in a European Challenge Cup match last Saturday.

The judiciary decided that because Danaher’s injury was minimal that Koyamaibole be issued a suspension at the lower end of the scale. He faced a ban of up to four years.

Koyamaibole can’t play again until Jan. 7, meaning he will miss Fiji tests against England, Ireland and Georgia, and several more club matches.
