Former Lions and Wales scrumhalf Mike Phillips will have surgery on his hand under local anaesthetic after he injured it playing for his club.
Phillips now plays his club game in the French Top 14 for Bayonne and his club have comfirmed that the surgery will take pace on Thursday.
The Wales scrum half is expected to be out of action for at least two weeks which rules him out of Bayonne’s Top14 derby clash with Biarritz on Sunday.
At this stage Phillips’ availability for the Autumn Internationals is not under threat due to the injury.
