Former captain Mana Otai has become Tonga’s new national rugby coach, replacing Isitolo Maka who led the nation’s successful campaign at the 2011 World Cup.
The 43-year-old Otai played for Tonga as a backrower, captaining the team at the 1995 World Cup in South Africa.
His appointment is for two years and his first task will be to lead the team to Europe in November where it will play tests against Italy and Scotland.
