Blue Bulls lose Botha but Sadie back for Currie Cup

Arno Botha comes into the starting line up

Loose forward Arno Botha will miss this week’s Currie Cup clash against the Free State due to a hamstring injury, but midfielder Johann Sadie will be fit for selection.

According to Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss, Botha picked up a hamstring strain against Griquas last weekend and will be out of action for at least ten days.

Sadie was out of action for almost two months following an ankle injury, but has fully recovered and of selected, could make his Currie Cup debut for the Blue Bulls.

Dewald Potgieter, Jugen Visser and Werner Kruger sat out training on Monday, but will be back on the field tomorrow.

“They all have bumps and bruises following the match against Griquas, but will be training again on Tuesday,” Strauss said.

Fudge Mabeta (8 weeks), Bjorn Basson (5 weeks) and Bongi Mbonambi (3 weeks) are longer term injuries.
