Italian lock Bortolami ruled out for four months

Italy lock Marco Bortolami will be out for about four months after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.

Italy’s 2007 World Cup captain dislocated his left shoulder in the loss to Argentina on June 9.

The Italian Rugby Federation confirms that the surgery in Milan was a success but that Bortolami needs an estimated four months to recover.

Bortolami is expected to be back in time for the November tests against Tonga, New Zealand and Australia.
