Former Chiefs and All Blacks first-five Mike Delany could be unveiled shortly by the Highlanders as their cover for Lima Sopoaga and Colin Slade.
Lima Sopoaga and Colin Slade have both picked up long term injuries leaving just Chris Noakes as their only number 10.
Former Chief Delany left New Zealand last season to play in Japan but they are in their off-season now so Delany could come in to rescue the Highlanders.
RadioSport says that Delany has been signed by the Highlanders for the remainder of the Super Rugby season.
A Highlanders spokesperson says they will reveal their replacement this week.
