Loffreda taking charge of Tigers?

Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda has reportedly signed a contract to become Leicester’s new coach from next season according to BBC Radio Leicester.

It’s anticipated that the successful Pumas coach will take charge of the flourishing Guinness Premiership club after the Rugby World Cup comes to an end in October this year, with assistant coach Richard Cockerill taking charge until then.

Current Tigers coach Pat Howard is returning to his native Australia at the end of the season.

Loffreda, 47, is a former Argentine centre who has been in charge of the Pumas for the last seven years. Under his watchful eye, Argentina have beaten many of the top Test-playing nations, including their historic win over England at Twickenham last year.
