France vs Ireland in Six Nations gets rescheduled

The France vs Ireland Six Nations match that was postponed last weekend due to a frozen pitch has now been rescheduled to take place in March.

French clubs wanted the match to be played in June but Ireland would have been on tour in New Zealand at that time.

The match will now take place on Sunday the 4th of March at 4pm (3pm GMT) in the Stade de France.

The Six Nations Council have also confirmed that French and Irish ticket holders unable to attend the match will receive a full refund of their match ticket.

Final details of the refund mechanism should be available tomorrow.

The Six Nations Championship format dictates that a match postponed in weeks one or two of the competition will be rescheduled to take place in either week three or, as in this case, week five of the tournament.

Commenting on the rescheduled match details John Feehan, Chief Executive, Six Nations said, “We are delighted that we have agreed a new date and time for the Six Nations France vs Ireland match in the Six Nations window.”

“We are also delighted that the FFR have announced a ticket refund scheme.”
