Boyet’s boot takes the sting out London Wasps

Four penalties from Benjamin Boyet helped Bayonne to a 19-11 Amlin Challenge Cup Pool 3 victory on Saturday evening.

Fly-half Benjamin Boyet opened the scoring for Bayonne with an early penalty.

His opposite number Nicky Robinson then levelled things up with three points
of his own before kicking his second penalty to push Wasps into the lead.

Yoann Huget grabbed the games opening try and Boyet’s conversion and then later
penalty gave the hosts a 13-6 advantage at the break.

The French fly-half kicked all the early points in the second period as well
as Bayonne’s dominance told.

Elliot Daly grabbed a late try for Wasps but Robinson missed the conversion
and in doing so missed the opportunity for the bonus point.

The sides meet in the return fixture at Adams Park on Thursday evening.
