Quesada to leave France team for Racing Metro

Former Argentinian fly-half Gonzalo Quesada looks set to move from his position as France kicking coach to become backs coach of Racing-Metro.

The 37-year-old – capped 38 times between 1996 and 2003 – has been in his present post for four years and had been asked by incoming France coach Philippe Saint-Andre to stay on as he is close to the players.

Quesada, who numbered among his clubs as a player Toulon and Stade Francais during eight years in French club rugby, will replace Simon Mannix, who was sacked after Friday’s 28-9 Top 14 win over Biarritz.

The 40-year-old New Zealander – capped once by the All Blacks – had been at Racing since 2007 in the days when it was still a Second Division club and had only recently extended his contract.
