Biarritz bounced back from their loss to the Ospreys last week by beating Saracens 15-10 in their Pool 5 Heineken Cup match at Parc des Sports Aguilera.
Biarritz outscored Saracens by two tries to one but Takuduzwa Ngwenya scored one of the great tries of the Heineken Cup when he ran in the French side’s second try.
It was the visitors through centre Owen Farrell who opened the scoring with
a penalty after 51 minutes.
But it was Biarritz, five minutes later who struck with the first try. The
inspirational Imanol Harinordoquy crossed for his side’s first score.
Julien Peyrelongue kicked a penalty to stretch his side’s lead then Nawenya
scored his solo effort to give the hosts a commanding position.
Saracens secured a losing bonus point after Alex Goode scored a late try which Owen Farell converted to keep Saracens as joint Pool leaders.
More to follow.
