Foley changing Waratahs SuperRugby approach

New Waratahs coach Michael Foley says that he has had time to review the 2011 Super Rugby season and now knows where he wants to take the Waratahs.

Foley will present the Waratahs’ change of approach for 2012 at a members forum next week hoping that it will be well received.

As the start of the new Super Rugby season approaches, Foley intends to use next week’s Members’ Forum to share what the team will take forward from last season and, more importantly, what it will leave behind.

“We’ve presented our direction to the players and the Board and we’ve got their support,” said Foley.

“Our members are our most dedicated advocates and we want to acknowledge their importance to us by sharing our plans with them.

“We have been fixated on some aspects of the game at the expense of others.”

” We scored more tries than any other team during the regular season but didn’t get the result we were after.

“I now understand how our supporters viewed our performances and the reasons for that. “

“I see where we ended up, both the positives and where we went wrong.”
