Marty and Hape could face three week bans

France centre David Marty and England centre Shontayne Hape face likely suspensions of three weeks if they are found guilty after being cited by Heineken Cup officials.

Marty, who was part of the France squad that reached last month’s Rugby World Cup final was cited for a dangerous tackle during Perpignan’s 15-12 victory over Exeter in Friday’s European Challenge Cup clash.

England back Hape who was part of Martin Johnson’s England Rugby World Cup squad was cited for and alleged dangerous tackle on the Edinburgh Rugby back row, David Denton (No 6) during the first half of Hape’s London Irish game at the Madejski Stadium.

Edinburgh lock Sean Cox has also been summoned to appear for punching Hape.

All three players will face the European Rugby Cup disciplinary commission in Dublin on Thursday.

Any punishment handed down applies to domestic matches as well.
