Edinburgh beat Treviso in Pro 12 League

Harry Leonard kicked 17 points as Edinburgh beat Treviso 11-22 in the RaboDirect Pro 12 League on Saturday.

Edinburgh made it a duo of Scottish victories in Italy on Saturday with their
first away win of the season at the Stadio Monigo.

Harry Leonard was the star of the show in a scrappy encounter that saw the
only two tries of the competition this weekend. Kicking 17 of the Gunners’
17 points, Leonard was instrumental in ensuring the Scots dominated a Treviso
side that have been building momentum over recent weeks.

The hosts had a promising first half, with a try for Ludovico Nitoglia taking
them into the lead shortly before the break, but after Lorenzo Cittadini fluffed
his lines soon after and Leonard took Edinburgh into the lead they maintained
until the close.

The sides remained within overtaking distance until the death, when a final
surge from Edinburgh saw Ross Rennie become only the second man to cross the
whitewash this week.

Treviso made a late break for the line but the gunners defence was too tight,
denying them the bonus point they had been chasing till the last.
