Edwards set to leave London Wasps this week

London Wasps head coach Shaun Edwards looks set to leave the Aviva Premiership rugby club by the end of this week.

Edwards’ position has been in doubt even since Wasps signed Dai Young and named Paul Turner as his assistant.

Edwards’ contract with Wales came to an end when Wales were beaten by Australia in the third place play off at the Rugby world cup.

It is understood that Wales are keen to re-sign Edwards and he has been linked with a position with England.

Timing will be crucial if England are to secure Edwards as the RFU are still compiling reviews of England’s quarter final exit at the Rugby World cup while Wales appear to be nearer a postion where they can move to secure the former rugby league star.

Edwards’ departure from Wasps won’t leave him unemployed as he is helping with Cambridge with their preparation ahead of next month’s university match.
