Biarritz sign Argentine prop Kodela for Top 14

Biarritz have been granted dispensation to sign Argentine prop forward Francisco Gomez Kodela as cover for injured back row Magnus Lund, the French Top 14 side have announced.


Gomez Kodela joins from Belgrano in his homeland, where he was captain.


He had already been lined up to replace the Australian prop Matt Dunning, who was forced to return home for treatment on a spinal injury.


Aged 26, Gomez Kodela is hoping his transfer is ratified in time for him to make his debut on Friday when Biarritz travel to Brive.


Englishman Lund is expected to be out for around seven months after undergoing surgery to repair ruptured anterior cruciate knee ligaments.
