Worcester Warriors flying wing Josh Drauniniu is looking for his season to lift-off in the Anglo Welsh LV=Cup at Sixways Stadium against London Wasps this Saturday.
Drauniniu made the switch to Warriors during the summer from London Welsh and has already shown flashes of his try-scoring ability.
The former England Sevens ace produced a moment of magic just minutes into his home debut against RaboDirect Rebels when a blistering run from deep set up Tom Arscott for a stunning score.
The Fijian-born ace could now get another chance to impress in the Anglo Welsh LV= Cup after this week being given the all-clear from a feared knee injury – and can hardly wait to get started.
“I’m enjoying my time at Warriors and the Anglo Welsh LV=Cup is a big opportunity for me. I’m looking forward to it,” said Drauniniu, who this week appears as the main feature in The Warrior match day programme.
“I’m excited and hope to be involved. I want to feed off the atmosphere and hopefully I can get my hands on the ball and do something. I’m ready to answer the call.
“When you join a new club you always want to show what you can do and there is some fantastic talent in the backs here so when you get the opportunity you have got to take it.
“This has been, by far, the best move I’ve ever made,” he added. “The boys are very welcoming and I’m enjoying the banter.
“There are no superstars – we are on the same footing. I’m comfortable here and that’s brought out my confidence. I can’t wait to really get going.”
