Hala’ufia gets seven week ban for Morgan tackle

London Irish No.8 Chris Hala’ufia has pleaded guilty to the citing by Gloucester Rugby of a dangerous charge into an Olly Morgan during the two clubs Aviva Premiership match at Kingsholm on October 1.

Hala’ufia was duly suspended by the RFU Disciplinary Panel of Chairman Jeremy Summers along with Julian Orris and Philip Evans for seven (7) weeks and will be able to play again on 29th November, 2011.

His London Irish club mate and prop Faan Rautenbach pleaded not guilty to the charge of striking an opponent in the same match which was upheld with no sanction imposed.

Hala’ufia was banned last season for eight weeks as well for a dangerous tackle on Shane Geraghty.
