Mitchell changes one Lions for Free State

Golden Lions coach John Mitchell as made one enforced personnel change to last week’s side that drew with the Free State Cheetahs for the Currie Cup match against Western Province at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday.

Flank Cobus Grobbelaar, who was injured in scoring his side’s first try, will miss this match as well as next weekend’s clash against the Sharks with injured ribs.

His injury has forced Mitchell to move Derek Minnie from No 7 to the open side flank in place of Grobbelaar.

Captain Josh Strauss shifts from No 8 to No 7 flank and Warren Whiteley, who has been impressive as an impact player, is promoted from the bench to start in Strauss’ place as eighth man.

Jaco Kriel comes into the match-22 as loose forward cover in place of Whiteley.
