Eight Tongan changes for Japan in World Cup

Tonga coach Isitolo Maka has left his captain and Brother Finau out of the Rugby World Cup team to face Japan in Whangarei.

In all Maka made eight changes including the replacement of hooker Aleki Lutui for his brother Maka as captain making him the eighth player to lead Tonga in a World Cup match.

Team officials could not immediately be reached to confirm whether Maka, who played in Tonga’s defeats to New Zealand and Canada, was injured.

He was reportedly battling an ankle problem before the start of the tournament.
