Haskell gives England a boost for world cup

England have been given a boost ahead of their final Rugby World Cup warm up match with the news that flanker and eighthman James Haskell will be able to play this weekend.

England finish off their Rugby World Cup warm up programme against Ireland in Dublin this weekend where England fell at the final hurdle on their way to a Grand Slam in the Six Nations.

Even though England were still crowned Six Nations champions the loss prevented England from winning their first Grand Slam since 2003.

James Haskell was in doubt for the match but scans have conclusively shown mild inflammation to a tendon in his foot.

Haskell trained fully yesterday and is considered fit for selection ahead of this weekend’s game against Ireland although it is unlikley that scrum half Ben Youngs and Captain Lewis Moody will feature in the match.
