Welsh Barbarian duo to play against Wales

Welsh duo Martyn Williams and Iestyn Thomas were among a star-studded Barbarians side announced Thursday to play Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.


Williams, 35, lost his place in the Wales back-row to Sam Warburton during the Six Nations but is still eyeing a place in Warren Gatland’s squad for this year’s World Cup in New Zealand.


Italy No 8 Sergio Parisse remains as captain after leading the Barbarians to a 38-32 victory against England at Twickenham last weekend.


Among the southern hemispshere players selected by the Barbarians are New Zealand wing Doug Howlett and Fiji centre Seru Rabenu while the pack features South Africa’s Joe van Niekerk and All Black prop Carl Hayman.
