Pennycook extends with Newcastle Falcons

Newcastle Falcons have revealed that Redford Pennycook has extended his contract at Kingston Park.

The 25-year-old openside joined the Falcons from Bristol in the summer making 16 appearances for the north-east outfit so far this season.

And the West Countryman has impressed with a string of performances including a fine display against London Wasps at Adams Park on New Year’s Day.

Pennycook was the architect for a Jimmy Gopperth try that day, as he scythed through the visitors’ rearguard to set up the Falcons No. 10.

“I’m delighted to extend my contract at Newcastle,” said Pennycook.

“I love it up here and I’m really settled. Every day I look forward to coming in to work and we have a fantastic set-up here,” he added.
