Exiles S.African prop banned for three weeks

London Irish’s South African prop Faan Rautenbach has been given a three-week ban for stamping on Munster flanker David Wallace’s head.

Rautenbach, 34, was sin-binned straight after the incident which happened in London Irish’s loss to Munster in the Heineken Cup on Saturday.

Rautenbach was found guilty at an independent disciplinary hearing but cut the ban from an initial five-week ban by two weeks

The South African-born prop will be free to play again from 18 February.

London Irish have lost 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions and this weekend face Northampton Saints who lead the Premiership and finished the Pool stages of the Heineken Cup unbeaten.
