Newcastle & Leeds Carnegie match re-scheduled

The Aviva Premiership Rugby match between Newcastle Falcons and Leeds Carnegie, scheduled to take place on Sunday 26th December 2010, has been rescheduled to take place the following day, Monday 27th December 2010 at 3.00pm, due to the pitch conditions at Kingston Park.

Northumbrian elite referee Dave Pearson inspected the Kingston Park pitch this morning and confirmed it was not fit for play at the current time.

However, independent contractors Sports and Stadia Services have been on site since Wednesday evening.

Hot air blowers are now working on the pitch and in their professional opinion, delaying the match by 24 hours should enable it to take place.

Premiership Rugby has therefore approved the amendment to the fixture.
