Newcastle re-sign Jeremy Manning for two years

Newcastle Falcons have announced that their creative playmaker, Jeremy Manning has put pen to paper on a two year contract extension at Kingston Park.

The 25-year-old New Zealander has wowed fans with a succession of fine performances in the colours of the Falcons. And Manning, who kicked the winning points against Exeter Chiefs in the Amlin Challenge Cup yesterday, is delighted with the news.

“I am really happy with life in the north-east,” said Manning.

“There is a lot of young talent here at the club and I want to help them develop. This is a fantastic club which is ambitious and moving in the right direction. I’m delighted to be a part of it,” he added.

Manning moved to the north-east from Irish province Munster in the summer after making 50 appearances for the Magners League outfit. Manning represented his homeland at Schools level before moving to Ireland to study, where he played club rugby for Cork before earning himself a switch to Munster.

Head coach, Alan Tait said: “Jeremy has excelled since he joined the club and I’m really pleased he’s signed the contract.”

“He’s a good lad and he’s settled very well on Tyneside. With the youngsters coming through, Jeremy is a great asset for the club.”
